1. Agreement

These Terms form an agreement between you and the operator of MeritPad. By accessing MeritPad, creating an account, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What MeritPad provides

MeritPad provides resume organization, editing, AI-assisted tailoring, evidence mapping, job recommendations, and related career tools. The service offers writing assistance—not legal, recruiting, financial, or professional career advice.

3. No employment guarantee

Match scores and recommendations are editorial guidance, not employer or applicant-tracking-system decisions. MeritPad does not guarantee ATS compatibility, interviews, offers, compensation, continued job-listing availability, or any employment outcome. You are responsible for reviewing every application before submitting it.

4. Your content and truthful use

You retain ownership of your resumes and other content. You give MeritPad permission to process that content only as needed to provide, secure, and support the requested service. You must have the right to use the content you provide and must not use MeritPad to fabricate credentials, impersonate another person, or submit deceptive applications.

5. Accounts

You are responsible for accurate account information and for activity under your account. Keep login credentials secure and notify us if you believe the account has been compromised. We may restrict or suspend access needed to investigate abuse, security incidents, payment disputes, or violations of these Terms.

6. AI-generated output

AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable. You must review and approve it before use. Do not rely on MeritPad to verify facts or add experience that your source resume does not support.

7. Free and paid plans

Plan prices, included usage, and billing intervals are shown before checkout. Paid subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You can manage or cancel a subscription through the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid billing period. 8. Acceptable use

You may not:

  • break the law or violate another person’s rights;
  • probe, disrupt, overload, scrape, or bypass service limits;
  • share, resell, or automate access without written permission;
  • upload malware or content designed to manipulate the service; or
  • use job listings in violation of the source site’s terms.

9. Third-party services and listings

MeritPad links to and relies on third-party services. Job listings can change or expire, and their accuracy remains the responsibility of the posting employer or source. MeritPad is not responsible for third-party services, websites, hiring practices, or content.

10. Service changes

We may modify features, plan limits, or pricing prospectively. Material subscription changes will be communicated as required by law. We may discontinue the service, but will make reasonable efforts to provide notice when practical.

11. Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MeritPad is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MeritPad and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-opportunity damages arising from use of the service.
